Regina Parker has been a Guest at TerraLuna since September, 2022 and we'd like to get to know her a bit better.
What class(es) have you/do you take?
Beginner's Reformer, Jump Board, Jump Lite
Would you share with us your Pilates story and how long you've been practicing Pilates?
If I remember correctly, I took the introduction class in September 2022. I was taking Zumba and stretching and toning classes in Cincinnati but classes were not scheduled for 2 weeks. I kept telling myself I needed to try Pilates with Lynelle so I finally put on my big girl pants and scheduled the introduction class. Took a Beginner Reformer class after that and was trying to work out when I could take Beginner Reformer since my Cincinnati classes were on the same days and times. The universe works in mysterious ways. My instructor for the Cincinnati classes needed to stop classes and the stars aligned and I have been a Pilates woman since October. Thanks to Planksgiving, I found I can put my body into different positions I never would have thought I could do. Thanks to Lissa, I took a leap into Jump class for the cardio I was missing without zumba. I am in my 6th month and looking forward to conquering the C curve next.
What is an activity which was difficult for you in the beginning but is now easier?
Planks
Do you have an activity that you currently struggle with? If so, what are the challenge that you experience?
C curve and keeping my legs up in tabletop when doing arm work.
Tell us about props! Favorite and least favorite.
I have a love hate relationship with the Squishy ball. Favorite because it helps with tabletop and keeping legs up and together when doing arm work. Least favorite when using it between ankles for legwork to keep the thighs together.
If you had a "Signature Activity" what would it be?
Giving Lynelle grief about the use of the word "fun" when describing a movement.
Do you have a goal you'd like to share with us or perhaps a little-known fact about you?
I lost 140lbs between 2015 and 2017. Gained 13lbs in 2018. Stupid Covid came and gained another 60 by 2021. Now I have lost the 60 and working on the 13. Using Pilates to help me tone and hopefully not look as gaunt in some places and loose skin in others.
Photo below is from when I zoomlined over Freedmont street in Las Vegas.
Do you have words of wisdom to share with other Guests?
Be wary when Lynelle says this will be fun. Normally means the activity is going to take some work and might be a little painful.
Finally, what is one food/drink/item you cannot live without?
Chocolate/Coffee/Fabric and Books
Thank you Reggie, for sharing a bit about yourself and your Pilates journey!
